We want to ensure that your appointment is truly magical, whether it is your first experience shopping for a wedding dress, or you are still searching for the one. Below are some frequently asked questions and top tips which you should read prior to your appointment.

WHEN SHOULD I START THE SEARCH FOR MY WEDDING DRESS?

We advise that you start looking for your wedding dress at least 12 months prior to your wedding day. This is to avoid any unnecessary panic and stress by allowing time for you to find that perfect dress, have the dress delivered to our studio and have any alterations.  

If you have a shorter time frame, please contact us so that we can advise you on dresses that are available at shorter notice. 

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN I BRING FOR SUPPORT?

Our studio is purposely small so that you can have exclusivity and an intimate experience tailored to you! We kindly request that you invite no more than 4 people to attend your appointment so that your entourage are comfortable. 

In addition, from experience our brides have a more enjoyable experience with fewer guests as too many opinions can be overwhelming and confusing. 

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

Due to the delicate nature of the dresses, we kindly ask you to refrain from bringing young children along to your appointment. From experience, our brides also enjoy the uninterrupted time to enjoy the experience and decision-making process.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

You do not need to bring anything with you to your appointment. However, we do recommend that you wear nude underwear and a strapless bra if possible. You may also wish to bring along your wedding shoes or a shoe with similar heel height.

CAN I WEAR FAKE TAN AND MAKE-UP?

We kindly request that you refrain from wearing fake tan for your appointment. Fake tan permanently discolours the dresses and can ruin the experience of future brides. 

You can wear makeup for your appointment but we request that you keep your makeup light and refrain from wearing lipstick or gloss that could discolour the dresses. 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY APPOINTMENT?

You will have the studio exclusively for up to 2 hours. One of our stylists will take you through our entire collection so that you can choose the dresses that you want to try on to find that dream dress. 

Once you find the one, the stylist will take your measurements to order your dress. All of the dresses at Feathers & Florence are a standard size and are not made to your exact measurements so alterations will be required.

DO YOU HAVE A SEAMSTRESS?

Our studio is not large enough to accommodate an instore seamstress. We work closely with a seamstress that we highly recommend to our brides.
