WHEN SHOULD I BEGIN BRIDAL SHOPPING

We suggest starting your bridal shopping journey at least a year before your wedding day, with the aim to finalise your purchase approximately 8-10 months ahead of your wedding day.

If your timeline is shorter, some of our designers offer a rush order service, where they can produce your dress in a reduced amount of time but this attracts a fee. We also have ready-to-wear dresses to accommodate your needs. However, availability may be limited, so feel free to reach out to us for further discussion.

Our studio is open on an appointment only basis so that you can enjoy exclusivity of the studio to find your aisle style. We do not accept walk-ins. To schedule your appointment, please utilise our online booking scheduler available here.

To reserve an appointment, a non-refundable booking fee of £25.00 must be paid in advance. When you find your aisle style during your first appointment, we will deduct the booking fee from the investment of your dress.

Yes, we charge a fee of £25.00 for your first appointment, which secures your personal styling session with us. This fee is non-refundable. If you discover your dream dress during your initial appointment, we will deduct the booking fee from the overall investment of your gown. Follow-up fittings to retry favourites are complimentary after your initial visit to us.

First fittings are scheduled for 2 hours and follow-up fittings are allotted 1 hour.

WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF YOUR STYLES

Our Made-To-Order pieces range between £1,800 up to £4,500, with the average spend being £3,400.

We also have ready-to-wear mini dresses which range between £500 - £700, perfect for casual city hall ceremonies or as a second dress.

Our sample sizes range between a UK10 - UK18, with the majority of our styles being a UK14. We are continually expanding our size offering to make you feel comfortable. If you have any concerns please reach out to us.

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN I BRING

We kindly request that you invite no more than 4 people to attend your appointment so that your friends and family are comfortable. From experience our brides have a more enjoyable experience with fewer guests as too many opinions can be overwhelming and confusing.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME IN THE STUDIO

In the words of Mrs Kim from Gilmore Girls ‘you break, you pay!’ So trust us when we say you’ll enjoy your experience more when you are not being interrupted by or worried that your little one is yanking at delicate, white dresses! 

We therefore politely ask that children are not included in your party.

We recommend that you carefully consider your choice of underwear for your appointment. Skin-coloured, seamless underwear complements bridal gowns perfectly, and having a strapless bra can useful to help you envision your bridal style.

You will have exclusive use of the studio for up to 2 hours. Melissa, our bridal stylist, will take you through our entire collection so that you can choose the dresses that you want to try on to find your dream dress.

I'VE FOUND 'THE ONE', WHAT'S NEXT

When you find 'the one', Melissa will take your measurements to order your dress. All of the dresses at Feathers & Florence are a standard size and are not made to your exact measurements so alterations will be required.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is taken upon ordering your dress to allow us to place an order with the designer. The remaining 50% is due when you collect your dress, which will be 2-3 months before your wedding date. We will contact you to arrange a date for you to collect your dress once your dress is delivered to our studio.

DO YOU HAVE A SEAMSTRESS

Our studio doesn't house an in-store seamstress,. We work closely with a highly recommended seamstress. 

It's important to note that our dresses are available in standard sizes and may need alterations for a perfect fit tailored to your frame. We advise budgeting between £250 - £400 for alterations, ensuring your dress fits flawlessly.

We specialise in helping brides find their aisle style which is why we stock bridal wear and accessories only and your appointment is focused on you. 

For bridesmaids, head to Always The Bridesmaids or Bridesmaid by JB. For mother of the bride, good luck because it's a tough one! For anything else, Google it.
